Cheap Flights to Liverpool
Search for cheap airfare to Liverpool and book a flight to Liverpool
Liverpool is very well known for its football team, as well as for being the birthplace of the Beatles. It also boasts a lively nightlife and has a great cultural heritage.
An airport serving Liverpool
Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LPL) serves the city and handles both domestic flights and flights from other European cities. While it is not hub for any airline, it is well served by low cost carries, such as EasyJet and Ryanair.
The airport is located about 12 km from the city center and there are several bus routes which go directly to the city center. The express runs every 30 minutes but other buses run every 15 minutes. The travel time to Liverpool’s city center is about 40-45 min.
Those flying from other countries than Europe will need to fly into London and then connect to Liverpool by bus or train.
An alternative airport
A good alternative airport for flying into Liverpool is Manchester Airport (MAN) , hub for Flybe and served by a lot more airlines which offer direct flights to/from North America, Europe, Asia and Middle East. Ryanair and EasyJet have a strong presence here, too.
To get from Manchester’s airport to Liverpool you can take a train directly from the airport to Liverpool Lime Street Station.
Finding cheap flights to Liverpool
If you fly from another European city, it’s worth it to check the prices offered by EasyJet, Rynair or WizzAir. All three have good flying conditions although the carry on baggage regulations can be a bit tough for some (however, if the luggage is the correct dimensions, you’ll be fine). Look for flights 4 to 8 weeks before departure to get the best deals, whether you plan to fly directly into Liverpool or to Manchester.
If you arrive from North America or Asia , check whether it’s cheaper to fly into London than into Manchester. London is just 2 hours by train from Liverpool.
As much as possible, avoid flying during the peak travel season (July & August). The shoulder season is a good option. Also, try to find mid-week rather than during the weekends.
